The Fear of Autonomous Vehicles

According to AAA, about three fourths of Americans expressed the fear of driverless cars. For whatever reason, people are afraid of taking people out of the driver seat. there are many advancements in technology and the fact that many people desire the freedom to drive but can’t due to a disability that has prevented them from getting around alone.

My friend Charlie has a disease and condition that is specific to him only. His bones are too weak for his body and he has a form of cerebal palsy, but don’t quote me on that, I’m not a doctor or a very good “rememberer”. One thing I know is that he needs someone to do just about everything for him. his wheelchair allows him to get most places, but driving is a no-go. I know it’s the least of his worries, but if I know charlie, the ability to go somewhere without his parents or someone else responsible to drive the specialized van they have, would be such an awesome freeing thing for him.

Driverless cars seem like a scary and new thing, but it isn’t because of the rich snobs who want to go anywhere without driving themselves; its for the people who may not be able to get there themselves. That’s my thought on the matter and fear of driverless cars.
